I started working out to get healthy at 17 i weighed almost 200lbs. That's when I knew it was time for change. I started working out, but I wasn't eating consistently. I would binge eat when no one was around and thought that I could just work extra hard in the gym the next day. It wasn't until my senior year of college that I consistently worked out, my eating was still awful, I wasn't educated. I was introduced to p90x by a friend and was hooked, I dropped some weight and was thrilled. I religiously started running in the mornings and strength trained in the evening. When I graduated December 2011 I moved back home and as a family we decided to do a body fat challenge. I have 4 siblings and out of us only one could be considered healthy, we grew up with the "clean plate club' so there were never really any restrictions on how much we ate. So this challenge began with a goal in mind losing the highest percent of body-fat before our family vacation in June. This is when i was introduced to free weights, my brother who has been my go to and inspiration throughout my weight loss journey taught me proper form and to not be afraid to lift heavy. He also introduced me to Bodybuilding.com I couldn't get enough of Jaime Easons LiveFit trainer I did two rounds of it then moved on to Lee Labrada's trainer. I started seeing changes in my body that I never thought possible. I would do research on bodybuilding.com all the time about nutrition, and supplementation. My eating went from 3 large meals a day to 5-6 small ones. I did not win our family competition I gained something greater, confidence. I went from being afraid of looking dumb using free weights improperly to challenging myself and getting out of my comfort zone. I needed something else to motivate me after so I decided to do BMOC again two times, who says women cant get #swole. I loved it. This is when I decided I wanted to train for a bikini/figure competition. So the research began again, and where did I go, right here to this website. It has everything you need to motivate and inspire you. Currently I eat clean and train dirty, I cant get enough of this lifestyle. Everyday I wake up grateful to have supportive family and friends as I continue my journey.
Honestly, I cant imagine waking up and not going to the gym or doing something active. It is apart of my life and daily routine. I love seeing progress. Even if its something small progress is progress no matter how big.
