I have always done something physical in my life. I prefer outdoor activities but began working with weights about 15 years ago. I have a hard time sticking with any particular program and have been an avid kick boxer, kayaker, hiker, yogi etc etc. After about a 5 year span of being really in to yoga I began strength training in the gym again about 2 years ago. After so many years of stretching my muscles and strengthening only certain ones I have found it extremely difficult to put muscle back on, especially in my legs which used to be very muscular.
I love the fact that I was blessed with a healthy and able body and enjoy using it. Working out and being physically active is a requirement for me to feel balanced. It makes me sleep better, feel better and then I get to eat whatever I want :) (Except for now...) after seeing so many people reshape their bodies through strength training I have decided I really need to get back with it. There is no reason why I can't look amazing too and thats my goal!
