I lifted in high school for football, and I definitely enjoyed myself, but over time, I just didn't find it necessary. I was in great shape, and thought I was young and would have a great body for some time. Then I hit college, and because I wasn't a 4-sport athlete anymore, my bad eating habits (along with too much drinking) caught up to me and I eventually got up to 230 lbs, which is the biggest I've ever been (and will never be that big again).
I got started seriously lifting because I was tired of being fat. I was a shadow of the athlete I once was, and I wanted to get it all back. So in January of 2013 I made a commitment to myself to do whatever it took to get back in shape. I started out basically doing a lot of cardio. It didn't help much. So one day I was just like "screw it, I'm lifting again." I immediately fell in love with the iron all over again
