I picked up my first set of dumbbells in 6th grade; started lifting basic arm lifts to compensate for my petite size and make me a stronger volleyball player. In high school I stayed fit by dancing through my tenure. After high school I wanted to keep the "Freshmen 15" away so I did what I knew best, running.
Years later I met my now husband who introduced me to weight lifting and I have been hooked since! I have worked out regulary for the last 5 or 6 years. After craving to dance again, I made the Sioux Falls Skyforce dance team where I danced with them for 2 seasons. During that time we had an excellent personal trainer who taught me more about fitness and health other than lifting weights and cardio. As my knowledge grew in the industry so did my desire to be better, and take my fitness to the next level. That's when I decided I wanted to compete and contacted my now trainer/coach/friend Brandan Fokken, who has taken me to the next level and he continues to do so. I can't wait to see where the fitness industry takes me! I want to help so many other people reach their potential and show them you REALLY can do anything you set your mind to!!!
I love this industry! When you look good, you feel good. Not only does bodybuilding keep me in shape and give me a healthy lifestyle, but also it is a motivator to those around me, in turn making this a very rewarding lifestyle. I enjoy being faced with challenges and working out presents plenty of them daily.
