I'm actually a really active person--swear!--and have been for most of my life (although you certainly can't tell from the look of my photos at the moment!) I walk at least an hour a day with my German Shepherd, hit the gym 4-5 times a week to lift, and practice Ashtanga yoga. I'm also getting back into running, so I'm doing 5k several times a week.
With all this exercise, I SHOULD HAVE A ROCKIN' BOD! Right? Except I don't. Really, really don't.
Don't get me wrong. I'm truly grateful that I don't suffer from any serious physical illnesses and that my body allows me to do all the activities I love (and sometimes hate...I'm one of those people who loves exercise while I'm doing it and when I'm finished, but struggles daily to force myself to get started and actually do it).
I think I'm a pretty good example of the HUGE role that nutrition plays in fitness. When you don't have healthy eating habits, like I don't, you can exercise until the cows come home and you're still not going to feel comfy in that bikini.
So how am I getting started today? I'm readjusting my priorities: 1) NUTRITION and 2) LIFTING.
Send some love, support and inspiration my way!
It makes me feel strong, tough and sexy.
King Kong ain't got **** on me! (Yes, I shout a Denzel Washington line from Training Day at the end of every run. It's actually the best part of running. You should try it.)
