I was in my early 20's, overweight and sick of looking/feeling like crap. Didn't like what I had become and vowed to do whatever it takes to turn things around. I started working out, doing mainly cardio about 2-3 days a week sometime in 2005, but it wasn't until April 2007 where I got serious and started going to the gym 4-5 days a week. That's also when I slowly started to incorporate weights into my workouts, hit my goal weight of 130 lbs in August 2007, and by February 2008 I was completely hooked on training, lifting 4-5 days a week.
In June 2008 I also started pole dancing for fitness. It's fun & definitely not as easy as some may think.
In October 2009 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, I had 2 surgeries followed by radiation in February 2010. In April 2010 I was deemed completely cancer free. I will continue training and living life to the fullest. You only have one body & one life, I want to be the best that I can be & enjoy every minute of everyday.
With every rep I feel like I am bettering myself. Also, it's a great way to vent! Anytime I'm having a crappy day, I hit the gym hard, walk out of there feeling much better, works every time!
