I was always physically fit through high school and was pretty good at working out and keeping a nice toned body. As a matter of fact, I think I was the only girl in my neighborhood with six-pack abs and muscle toned calves! I continued to keep up with my physical fitness after the birth of my first two boys, but I hit a road block when I turned 28! I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. My life changed dramatically! I never had trouble staying fit, keeping the weight off and having a toned body, but with the thyroid disorder in place, my weight issues began! It was much, much harder to lose weight and keep it off and the desire and motivation I once had was pretty much MIA! At the age of 31, I had my third son, but luckily I was able to lose all the weight I had put on and was able to keep it off up until my pregnancy with my fourth son. My fourth son was born July 2010 and I gained A LOT of weight! I went up to a WHOPPING 234 POUNDS!!! Thats A LOT of weight on a 5'2" body frame! Now I have AGE and THYROID issues working against me! I became pretty depressed due to all the extra weight I was carrying, and my self-esteem was pretty low. I was so embarrassed to go back to work at the end of my maternity leave because I was afraid of what people would say or how they would look at me. Then, in December 2010, just days before the new year I made the decision to get my life back and to regain the fit body I once had. I was fed up with being big and unhealthy. So, I joined the BB.com's $100,000 Body Transformation Competition and that's when my journey truly began! I then got a membership at the local gym in my town and met with a personal trainer. Today, I'm proud to say I'm OVER 80 pounds lighter and becoming a real force to be reckoned with! I've become a true fitness junkie and I LOVE IT!! My new lifestyle is just amazing and I'm so excited to continue on with my fitness journey. Each day I accomplish a goal, I set a new one in place. I will never give up!
I love working out because it puts me in control! I control how much I work out, how hard to push myself and when to pat myself on the back. It is extremely rewarding!! Not only is working out helping me with my body and my health, but when my boys see me working out, it inspires them to be the best they can be!
