I've always been very active dancing, cheerleading, and tumbling, but when I hit sophomore year in high school I took my first weight lifting class and fell in love. Even though there were other girls in the class, I hated their attitude and ALWAYS worked out with the guys. I learned the basics in that class, then kept it up on my own and with a friend here and there. Last summer I was in the best shape of my life because I was eating right and doing multiple workouts in a day. I lifted like the guys and loved the results!
I love feeling my muscles strain and shake and still know that I can reach into a deeper part of myself and still finish another set! I love feeling my muscles being sore (mostly) because it makes me feel like the work I've done is really having an effect on my body. Also, a huge motivator for me is seeing constant progress. There's nothing more satisfying to me than realizing that the weights that were hard a couple days ago suddenly aren't challenging anymore! Weight lifting makes you focus on your body and control it. Nothing makes me happier than having control over certain parts of my life! :]
