The start was slow...I had always been facinated with the look of the action hero's, Arnold, Stallone, Van Damme etc...I had a weight bench that I used on and off through my younger years but during university stopped the little training I did completely, studying music and living the Rockstar lifestyle! My change came on a holiday after university, I swam a length of a swimming pool and was out of breath! Having competed in swimming to a high standard during my school years this was quite a shock! When I got home, I quit smoking, got out the weight bench and it started from there! To stay fit at first, with little knowledge of nutrition and training. Soon the bug hit and it became a lifestyle, I read everything I could get my hands on, and still do, to learn as much as possible about different techniques and nutrition.
I love waking up in the morning seeing my abs popping through water depleted skin in the mirror next to my bed...mentally preparing for a workout whilst eating breakfast and getting my workout gear on...then walking into the gym, headphones blaring some heavy rock or hip-hop and then getting the pump...THE PUMP...feeling the muscles working and filling with blood and seeing this pump in the mirror whilst you sweat and feel every rep. I don't consider myself a bodybuilder, although I train very simular, diet is quite different and I do not go through what you would consider an off season and on season. Staying lean is far more important to me than getting big! I love the attention my body gets me and the confidence it gives. I love learning new things about diet and training and sharing knowledge with other people who share the passion for fitness and bodybuilding.
