I have been fighting losing weight and staying in shape for years. When I was younger I went to the gym and was in great shape. I have always eaten well. I don't eat out, I cook my own meals, ate low sugar and salt and drank lots of water and still could not lose weight. My doctor said my inside health was phenomenal. My outside health not so much.
After a four kids, 3 knee surgeries, and several years of suffering through plantar fasciitis and achilles tendinitis, I fell into severe depression. I never thought that I would be able to get my body back. I had basically given up.
I started feeling like total krap. I mean I felt horrible. I was bloated, sick..Just a miserable person and I was never a miserable person. One day I got a call from my mother who told me that my sister was suffering from Celiac disease. So I started to wonder if maybe I had this problem. Without even going to the doctor I immediately stopped eating gluten. I was flabbergasted by the change in how I felt. In just days I felt so much better than I had. I started walking on the treadmill at my work, if only for 10-20 minutes on lunch. Then I got a book called Lift to get lean by Holly Perkins. I took this book with me to my job everyday and followed the plan for a hard gainer. Sometimes I didn't have time to do all of the exercises but I figured something's better than nothing right..
Its been a few months now and yes, I'm sure someone may have made bigger strides than me with their weight. But I am proud to say I went from a size 20 to a size 14.. YAY!!!! I still have a long ways to go, but I finally see results and I feel so much better than I did..
