One day I stepped on a scale and was 170 pounds. I realized that if I didin't change what I was doing that I would end up diabetic, unable to breathe, and at risk for heart attack, stroke, and many other things that my family deals with on a regular basis. I wanted to change all of that. I made up my mind that enough was enough. I started out with zumba and lost 30 pounds. I was thrilled with my progress. Then I stagnated. I looked like a smaller version of my fat self. I met people on myfitnesspal who were lifters and they encouraged me to start lifting. I got brave enough to hire a trainer to show me what to do in the gym. Shortly after starting with her I found out about a competition that was coming up and decided I would traiin for it. I fell in love with lifting and that is my primary workout now. I also take my kids with me to the gym and my daughter wants to compete in bikini in the future. Making changes in my family was hard, but the changes are well worth it.
