It started way back when Starz premiered Spartacus, there was this behind the scenes video of what all the actors had to go through to obtain their bodies. I was hooked. I ran out to GNC and picked up a fat loss kit and have tried a number of things. It started with Kettlebell workouts, then bloomed into Crossfit, that's where I fell in love with weightlifting and wanting to see and push the limits of how heavy I could lift. Last year I completed my Spartan Trifecta competing in 4 different Spartan Races, and over 20 Obstacle Course Racing, and Rucking. I have felt my interests have turned more from Crossfit to more Powerlifting and I really would like to get more into Powerlifting Events & even Highland Game style events. In 2016, I found myself in Highland Games and have fallen in love. My focus has changed yet again from OCRs and Rucking to Highland Games/Powerlifting. I have gone back to Crossfit because I have felt my strength slipping and really feel the best way I'm motivated is in a class. I am focusing a lot of my time in my classes on getting my weightlifting movements right to make me stronger. In 2016 I participated in my first Highlander game - a cross between Highland games, and Strongman -- it's AMAZING.
2017 - I watched my strength dwindle and my flexability start to go away as well. I really started to worry about what was going on.
2018 - diagnosed with a rare disease that affects my skin and muscle called dermatomyositis. I am truly rebuilding my body. I will be 40 in 2020, and I would like to change my body to become the best it can.
Its that power, and ability to do something some woman are afraid of doing. I like seeing the numbers rack up on my weights, and if I'm doing everything right, the numbers get smaller on the scale.
