Started weight training in HS for basketball. Really got into training at college and cranked it up after my baseball career ended. After college and moving to Columbus I hooked up with some powerlifters and became obsessed w/ getting bigger and stronger. Had a lot of fun moving some serious weight for several years but then life got in the way. I had to get healthier when I hit 35 and I changed my training to more of a bodybuilding style. I've gone from 285 to as low as 228 and I am way healthier. The struggle is mentally letting go of the need to be seen as "big" and being the strongest guy in the gym (most of the time). I still enjoy training heavy but I keep it sensible and have a different mindset about what "heavy" is. At this stage of my life my goal is to keep every ounce of muscle I've built over the years as I drop bodyfat.
