My interest in strength training developed as I became more serious about middle-distance endurance running, particularly trail running, which I have been doing since about 2010. I wanted to build strength that would assist my running performance and prevent injury. But my lifting became a bigger component of my training when I started working out with some workmates. Now I'm looking for that elusive balance between Leg Day and running 40km a week.
