I played Division 1 softball in college, however when I graduated and was done playing I was extremely depressed because I didn't know what to do with extra time, and what I was supposed to do now that the game I love was over for me. Well at least at a highly competetive leve. It was heart breaking. It took a serious change in my life to realize I was depressed and that I needed to make a change. So I did it, I started eating paleo, and joined a local crossfit. Along my journey I also started a website for athletes, coaches, and parents. The site brings relevant and valuable stories and articles from athletes to a blog. We are now offering workout plans, nutrition plans, and even a few guides for coaches and parents on recruiting, coaching and more. Check it out at http://www.buildingabetterathlete.com
CrossFit and working out is perfect for me because I am highly competetive and it really drives me to push myself and my body. I found the pounds fell off as I became confident again and changed my eating habits. I can honestly SAY I am addicted to the gym, and addicted to a fit lifestyle. My boyfriend and I workout at least 6 days a week and find reasons to visit a local track and make up a routine of sit ups, push ups, bleacher runs, handstands, and more.. Its amazing!
