It took me two separate events of my lifetime to get my buttocks to start working out and bodybuilding. For the working out portion, I began doing it when I was studying for my bachelors degree in 2010. One of my classmate would usually humiliate me in front of the others by calling me a "fat-ass". I was fine about it that time but it wasn't until almost everyone I knew started to follow the bandwagon and started to do so.
From then, I started to workout and even changed the way I eat. Everything was based on counting calories and exercising. By 2011, I managed to shred those fats and even have some of my abs showing up. The guy who used to call my fatass stopped calling me and respected me for what I did.
I stayed actively working out throughout that year (2011) and by 2012, things started to change. Having recently graduated and in search for a job, my timing for working out changed. When I was employed a few months later, the frequency of working out became less as time goes by.
By 2014, I gained back all the fats that I have lost. I was too engrossed with work and my newly discovered hobby (collecting and modifying miniature diecast cars) which has become my stress relief from work resulted in totally forgetting about "working out" and staying fit out of the picture. However all of these things suddenly changed when my Grandfather passed away in June due to illness. I couldn't concentrate on my work, even the hobby couldn't manage to relief the stress I was having. I indulged in unhealthy eating as well as a result.
It was until one day, as I was browsing through old photo of mine, I came across a picture of myself back in 2012. In the picture, I had abs and some muscles and I looked great. Then, I went on looked at myself in the mirror. Horrified with what I saw in the mirror, staring back at me, is the fat old self in 2010.
From then onwards, I decided to take a step forward and change the way I live my life. I needed something to keep my mind of work without sabotaging my wellbeing and so I eventually started to work out once again. Only this time, it's not just normal exercise without a goal. This time I have a goal and that is to have a very fit and strong physique and for this to be achieved I decided to learn and incorporate bodybuilding.
I'm never going back to my old self, ever!
I love working out/bodybuilding because it improves my overall strength and endurance as well as enhancing my physique. Other than that, I love the challenges that this sport brings be it physical or mental.
