I was always active in high school and played 3 sports. After high school I joined the Air Force and stayed fit until I retired. After that I guess I got a little lazy and the pounds started piling on a little I got up to 222 lbs at one point. After a trip to the doctor and a diagnosis of being "pre-diabetic" I was kick started back into the gym. I did the P90X workout and dropped from 208 to 179 and felt great. After doing that program I had to get back into the gym and around people. I feel more pumped when I can feed off of the comraderie of others chasing their fitness goals too. I am currently at 195 pounds and am really looking to lean out a little. I don't know what I would do without weight lifting. It is truly my stress reliever and my salvation.
I love working out because it makes me challenge myself both mentally and physically. Those challenges keep me focused and always chasing goals. I have been workingout for year now and I feel that you always have to challenge yourself with goals...therfore, this coming year (2014) I hope to compete in my first competition--the Texas Shredder. Time to get serious! lol
