I actually started working out back in 1993 when I was a Senior at Newton-Conover High School. I started training hard with two brothers named Sid and Chuck Warren. Both of those guys were in their 40's when I was just a young lad of 17 or 18. They took me under their wing and started showing me the in's and out's of proper training ..old school style! I then trained off and on at college at Appalachian State University where I soon figured out my traps were my strongest and best feature! I could barbell shrug a little less than 700lbs !
Because it is a great release of stress and is quite therapeutic! It also helps with the ego somewhat! Did I say that? I mean it boosts one's self-confidence!
I train not only because of the above, but, also because I desire to maintain my strength and improve upon my overall fitness. After all, I am not getting any younger considering I am in my 40's now. I still have a lot left in me that needs to be expressed by lifting weights and rowing on the ERG.
