I was an overweight (obese) high school graduate at the age of 17; weighing 310lbs. I wanted more out of life. To have a girlfriend, play the sports I love, and to have appearance I was proud of to look at everyday. Those are just a few of many reasons I decided to begin working out, but since my journey in the weight lifting world began I've found an astounding number of other reasons as to why I love bodybuilding. I'm now 25 and continue to be an active person with a healthy diet and a decent all round fitness level. I've averaged out around 240-245lbs for the past 8 years with my lowest weight ever being 225lbs.
Discipline! Discipline! Discipline! I LOVE working out because not only do I gain a greater level of confidence, physical appearance, and healthier body, but I also gain attributes I can transfer from the gym into the real world for personal success!
My entire philosophy is discipline.
If I can push myself day in and day out to lift weights or grind out an intense workout, and eat a well balanced diet... I can push myself to study, learn, start a business, fly a plane, break a world record, or anything! It's almost as if they weren't kidding when they said "You can do anything you put your mind too." Words to live by.
That is why I LOVE bodybuilding! What are you waiting for?
