I used to be an athlete in high school and college. Joined the military and got into incredible shape.
Then it happened.
I got married and had a baby ... or two. Gained a whopping 75lbs during my last pregnancy and maxed out at 205lbs. While I didn't eat junk food and always craved veggies I put on tons of water weight and really stretched out (damn you preeclampsia!). I was able to lose most of the weight after our first baby but still had at least 15 or 20 more pounds to go when we found out we were expecting again. Since number two, baby weight doesn't seem to want to go anywhere. He's also 8 now â but can I still call it baby weight? (;
I won't lie, I haven't been as focused and dedicated to dropping it as I was before. Since 2016 I've started a business or three, retired from the military, worked on my degree, got a divorce, and found out I have Hashimoto's with a potential side of Lupus. I've been ... tired, lol.
But tired and full of excuses won't change a thing.
For the past 6 months, I've been dedicated to becoming more consistent. Now it's time to start tracking measurements, one rep maxes, and really nail down my cardio and muay thai schedules. I want to get my ass in gear, get and stay in the best shape of my life. It's the only way to really stay alive and set a strong example for my sons.
Addicted to how I feel when I'm in good shape. I've always been a little gym rat, it's my little haven and chance to escape the stresses of daily life. Your body is a temple; fitness and nutrition are important to me not just to look good, but to feel good and feel well rounded and to take care of my health so I can prevent autoimmune flare-ups.
