In middle school I was a large kid. I was on the junior varsity football team and I couldn't do a lap on the field without stopping and wheezing. I was overweight, slow, weak and just plain unhappy. I wanted to be more, achieve more and do more. I was then diagnosed in my teens with a heart disease called Atrial Fibrillation which is normally reserved for people in their 50's and on. Needless to say it scared me and my future health became questionable. If I kept on the same path of poor eating and bad habits I would surely have complications in the future. I decided that it was time to take my health into my own hands and got my first set of 20lb dumbbells, opened up google and began my journey.
Bodybuilding started off as something I had to do. As I started becoming more consistent I grew to love it. What seemed like a job quickly turned into a hobby and then into a full blown passion of mine. The feeling of seeing yourself get better and better every day and the feeling of daily activities becoming easier and easier is unrivaled. Bodybuilding doesn't only mean physical for me. I take the lessons and persistance in my workouts and apply them to the real world such as my school life and beyond. I feel like working out has made me a better person and allows me to tap into my full potential as a person.
