I started working out regularly because I wanted to lose excess baby flub after my 2nd child (14 years ago). I got hooked on the feeling and really enjoyed it even though I did so mostly from home. However, as much as I loved it I didn't see any real physical changes until I added in (mostly) clean eating and heavier weights. Now I'm really hooked! I read everything I can about nutrition and fitness (to the point that I'm now about to get certified as a personal trainer). I finally joined a gym and now I have access to equipment to really challenge myself....although I'm still intimidated to go into the "big boy room" which is where I really want to be!
I love how working out makes me feel. It's very empowering and it's something that I can actually control. When life gets crazy and things spiral out of control I know one thing for a fact...I control what I eat and how I treat my body. Things may fall apart around me at times but my workouts keep me sane and grounded.
