I started working out in high school. I knew nothing other than I needed to be stronger for football. In college I tore my acl and hit the gym hard to get back on the field.
Life happened and I never got back on the field. I stopped working out. I thought, "Hey, I have a physical job I don't need to work out." Then I went for a check up and my blood pressure was through the roof. I quit smoking. It went down but, not enough. I procrastinated but, I took my pills and it went down but not enough. then I started to eat better not so much fast food a lot of fish and chicken. My weight went down and so did my blood pressure, to normal.
Around the same time a young man started working for me. He was upbeat and positive. His attitude was infectious. He is a power lifter and reminded me of myself when I was playing football in college. He decided to try bodybuilding. He set goals and trained hard!!! I did my part trying to keep him up. I told him of one of my motivators Franco Columbo. Both were power lifters who became bodybuilders and both were very short in stature. He worked even Harder and he won both classes he entered and came in second over all. I was so, proud of him and I was inspired.
In October I joined a gym. I go every night after work.
There are three reasons I love working out. It makes me feel good. Even the soreness feels good. I love watching my body slowly transform. There are areas I want to improve but, it takes time and hard work. Finally I like the way my wife looks at me now. I'm not soft anymore.
