I was overweight most of my childhood and finally committed myself to doing something about it in college. I was up to 190 lbs. I did most of my workouts at home, mostly plyometrics. I got down to 150 lbs during this time. Nearing the end of college, I got in to a real bad car accident and compound fractured my femur. I spent 5 months on crutches and it took about 1.5 years to heal. After this incident, i just couldn't get back in to working out. It was always on my mind, but i just couldn't find the discipline. About 3.5 years ago ,I started working out and doing playground workouts then I moved on to the gym in my apartment complex. I ended up moving and getting a new and lost my grip on working out again for about 6 months. During this 6 month period, with the new job and sitting at my desk all day, I ballooned up to 215 lbs and felt disgusted by myself. I finally got a handle on my job and my schedule and started making it to the gym 5 days a week with a friend. Since then, I have moved up to 6 days a week, and have lost over 30 lbs. Now I study and live fitness non-stop.
Life is about the balance of mind, body, and spirit. With the body in shape, the mind and spirit come easily. If a person finds the time to workout, they will find the time to do so much more with their lives.
