I started really working out in college. I lucked out with an athletic scholarship throwing shotput, discus, and hammer. We lifted every morning at 6am and then completed PLYOS and our throwing workouts in the afternoon. After being a "heavy kid" for 18 years, it felt good to really see my potential in numbers. I was always stong, but i never knew how stong I could be. We mainly worked on power lifting, low explosive reps with big weight. The sport required that type of training. I peaked my junior year of college. (Bench 495 MAX - Squat 675 MAX - DL 585 MAX) At that time, I was 280 lbs and only 15% BF. I was in the greatest shape of my life, and it felt GREAT!
My excercise regimine dropped off dramatically within the past 5 years. So many failed attepmts to "get back into it" has discouraged me. My friend told me about this program he started, and he has made some great strides. He and I are always competing in many aspects of life, so I took it as a challenge. That is my motivation, and once I complete the Shorcut to Shred 6- week, I am going to utilize other programs to keep myself interested in the transformations I can make.
