Got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I would spend whole weekends on the couch, had trouble getting to sleep without medication and never seemed to have the energy to focus or do anything during the day. A friend of mine and I took a stab at p90x and got great results but they didnt last. I had the attitude of "man, i work out so much that i never get to enjoy being fit". Then, after moving to STL, i lost my main fitness reason (Rec sports in Houston) and had to build a social circle from scratch. Working out became a way for me to find new challenges and have time where i can shut the world out and focus on me.
I love rising to new challenges! In April of 2013 I ran my first half marathon and completed my second in October. I love the pressure of a deadline and rising to the expectations of those around me. Seeing my family cheering me on as i crossed the finish line was an amazing feeling. I get that same feeling when i crush a new PR (especially on squats because i used to hate those). Having the energy to make it through the day and still hitting the gym is amazing. Also, i love to cook so opening a whole new world of lean recipies is great too.
