The biggest motivator that got me to start working out was the news that I was going to be a father.
I didn't to be one of those lame dads who is too out of shape to play with his kids, I wanted to be a man that could protect and defend my family, and I wanted to be someone that my boy would look up to. Each of those items is accomplished by 'getting my daily dose of iron'!
Everyday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm, I bust my butt to make someone else rich, but, from 6:00am to 7:30am, it's me time: I answer to no one, and my weights answer to me.
Bodybuilding is my therapy. If I could pull 300 yesterday, but I can't pull it today, I know something's up, and I need to work through whatever it is to ensure that, by the end of the workout, I'm setting new PRs.
I started this journey mostly trying to look better and also to perform better physically, but I keep going for the clarity of mind and the constant feeling of accomplishment that I get from going to my basement day after day, setting new records, and crushing the old ones.
