My weight loss transformation began a little less than 4 years ago (mid 2014). At 453lbs my weight was not just a big inconvenience to my every day life, but I was also fearing that I would become another victim to diabetes (which runs in my family). My weight challenges began in my early teenage years and this would not be my first weight loss expedition, but my most challenging one. I knew I was going to fight this battle climbing a steep hill and a tough mindset was going to be my greatest weapon. I was able to lose 150lbs in less than a year. Also in that first year, I faced another obstacle (injury) that still persists today. What started as a pinched nerve in my left shoulder, led to other chronic injuries that have completely limited my training to only isolation work-outs. Putting more emphasis on my diet regiment while still being able to get the most out of my training is what has kept me going thus far. This 2018 Bodybuilding.com, transformation challenge has been that ânext stepâ forward in my fitness journey as well. I was able to make a noticeable transformation within the last 12 weeks when it came to my weight, body fat reduction, muscle hypertrophy, and overall appearance. My new mission in the near future as I continue my fitness journey, is to have my weight loss story and experience have a positive impact towards individuals who are looking to achieve a similar weight loss success.
