Between Jan 2011 and Jan 2012, I lost 109 lbs, then hit a plateau. I wasn't losing, but was maintaining pretty well. Then, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and I had to watch him slowly die for the next 2 years. During that time, I gained about 30 lbs back, and after he passed, I gained another 30 over that next year.
Once I got back on solid ground, I worked about 20 of that off again, and hit another plateau. I joined a gym, and was exercising 3 days a week, but still wasn't losing. Then, I was diagnosed with diabetes, and had the "Oh hell no" moment that I should've had long ago. The diagnosis was the catalyst I apparently needed, because I made radical, sustainable changes, and the weight started flying off. My health has improved dramatically over the last 9 months, the diabetes is so under control it's like I don't even have it, and I'm 158 lbs lighter than I was at my heaviest.
NOTHING is going to stop me from achieving my health and fitness goals!
