I need something positive in my life, and enduring the daily grind of the iron has helped get me through the dark periods of my life: divorcing my wife, watching my granmother and mom die. I survived those tough periods and proved to myself that I was strong enough to endure anything that life could ever throw at me--thanks to the iron.
I like the results much more than the daily grind of sweat and pain. It proves to myself and to others that I am an extraordinary person. Not everybody has what it takes to do what I do: the workouts, the strictly regimented diet, the blood, sweat, and tears from the iron. I do what most people can't--or won't--do. Also, I love it because it instills a sense of confidence; if I can endure a brutal weightlifting or cardio session, then I can overcome the daily nuisances of the office, the GF, etc. Also, I do like to sweat.
