In High School gym class we had an option to partake in the team activities, or go down to the weight room. 90% of the time, I'd head for the weight room (of course many of the people that also went, did so to slack off). A specific event that got me hooked was the football coach, who also ran the weight room, came out of his office and stopped dead in his tracks and complimented the form on my squats. It's worth mentioning that he had never payed particular attention to me as I was a sophomore and not on the football team.
