I began bodybuilding/working out in high school but I didn't stay with it. Years later and after the "motherhood spread" I realized I needed to do SOMETHING. Although I have been working out off and on for years, it has only been in the past 1.5 years that I have really began to focus and maintain my consistency.
I think back to the days when I first watched Rachel McLish, Cory Everson, and even Lenda Murray grace a stage. I was in awe of the beauty defined in the power of their physiques!
I love bodybuilding because I absolutely LOVE the way weightlifting makes me feel. When I walk out of the gym drenched and completely red in the face, I know I left it all in the gym and it is the greatest feeling, ever! I also love it because I know EACH time I walk into a gym, or on a track, or in a class, I am doing something for ME - something that is improving my health and increasing my chances of a longer, more fulfilling life. Each time I lift, I discover something about myself - better mental focus, greater body awareness, and I surprise myself at just how strong I am. To me, strong is SEXY on a woman!
