How I Started
I was a premi and was born with asthma. I didn't like that I couldn't keep up with the other kids so I would run catch my breath and run again. This started as young as 5 and soon by second grade I would run laps during recess and joined cross country in 6th grade. I outran my Asthma thankfully. I was very motivated to be state champion and by anime and Bruce Lee I would do hundred of pushups and ab reps tons of punches and kicks and push myself to run further. I was active from a young age biking as far as 20 miles in a day as young as 8 and being put to manual labor by my parents who were old fashioned. I was a tough kid and was driven. I was always big for a runner and clumsy. I never had much natural talent at anything except hard work and academics. I would be the runner running in white out blizzards for 10 miles I would push myself to the limit and would get injuries at times due to it. By my senior year despite being larger at 180lbs and 6 foot 1 I had built a great cardio base through many miles at 7000 feet elevation where I live. I had 5ks in the 15minutes. 2 miles sub 10. I was always doing pushups up to 600 a day and usually double that in ab work. My senior year I got injured pretty bad and fell into depression. The reason for the injury was overtraining but also as a premi One half my body is off. 1 arm specifically the forearm is about 1.5inches longer and 1 foot 1.5 sizes larger also 1 leg a little larger. Over many reps and many miles this led to imbalances that pulled my hips and spine out of alignment leading to chronic low back pain sciatica flare ups. This also effects my benches deadlifts squats etc to this day but i mostly just workout like normal it usually effects me most at very high max weight attempts. 1 Lat is larger etc. Deadlift can be thrown off to 1 side when heavy which is dangerous and I have thrown my back out like that before. I have shorter legs and a long torso and squats are very hard for me I stretch daily or try to but I am a very tight individual ESPECIALLY in the hip and glute and groin areas. Anyways I got derailed, so I had become depressed at losing my college running career at the level I wanted and I began to party. With my genetics for partying I tend to do it wayyyy to hard when I do. I've had several alcohol detoxes put it that way. So some of my photos you can see where I'm more out of shape but always seem to have muscle retention. I tried to have comebacks after a stint in jail for fitness and got lean and ran a bunch doing calisthenics but I got injured again I was about 23 when this happened so I decided to do my first bulk and try lifting. I did and my body naturally packed on the bulk. I Liked that I was decent at it and stuck to it. sadly I lost the photos at my peak where I was lean and big but i digress. Now I'm 29 and I've lifted on and off all these years.
Why I Love it
Usually I go in cycles where I get motivated then depressed When motivated I will workout 3 hours a day and eat right when not I will eat like shit and drink like a fish. I seem to naturally hover around 230. 240 if I bulk and lift heavy. 220 if I run more like 40 miles a week and lift still. Now I am trying to get in shape for boxing. I am self teaching and just have it as a general goal.
Currently I only lift for about 90 minutes 4 times a week. Shoulders, Back/Bi, Chest/ tri, Legs for my split. I run about 20 miles a week split into 5 days and do core each of those days. I also shadow box/ heavy bag work for 30ish minutes 5 days a week. The whole reason I made this rant and posted photos is because I'm curious what bodyfat percent you guys would guess I was at in various photos. My most recent one being in the red underwear. Just going to try and continue that workout split and about 2700cal a day for a cut and see where that puts me in a month.
