I've always been athletic and active and have gone to the gym often to support my main hobbies, but while in the military from 2008-2009, all my free time, while others went to the canteen for donuts, I went to the gym. At some point my husband-to-be spotted me working out. He was already a bodybuilder/power lifter, and so when I was out of the military in 2009, we worked out together. We both got serious both with each other and with our common hobby. It became the focus of our daily routines and has stayed that way if not more serious.

I love it because I can see the results and I can challenge myself. I also love it because it has opened up a whole new window to learning about health issues, including the psychological aspects.
