I was raised in a house where my father was a weight lifting junkie. Since I was child, he always instilled the importance of fitness and a healthy lifestyle. But his influences could only go so far, as I was blessed with poor genetics, and thus lived my entire life being overweight. For my 18th birthday, my father bought me a gym pass, and I have been addicted ever since. Fitness and nutrition has a been a bittersweet battle for me. Once I started working out, it became a lifestyle for me, however, the nutrition part has been a struggle. I lost over 65 lbs in under a year, marking a pivotal point in my adult life. With my weight loss, I've faced eating disorders and overtraining. But these struggles have molded me into who I am today.
Fitness is both a mental and physcial outlet for me, it has defined my life and who I am. Its helped me to become a better person, inside and out: I am enthusiastic, disciplined, vital, strong-muscled and enduring. Most important, it gives me confidence, personal strength, mental well-being and overall I am a happier person. It is not just a lifestyle, it is my life.
