Ever since i was placed in a peer environment (school) i was always the small one. The shortest. Not the skinniest but almost always the weakest. I was picked on for my height and size until i grew fed up at the age of 15 and began to pick up the weights. Progress was fast as competition was always a strong side of me as i attained an Iron Man award through the school weightlifting program (1.3 x Bodyweight on bench and powerclean and 2.0 on squat) at 105lbs. I quickly fell in love with lifting and by Senior year i tacked on ten pounds and broke the school bench record for my weight class. I graduated and attend Indiana University where my love of bodybuilding began my freshman year. My goals became focused on bulking and conditioning instead of making gains on the one rep max. This new love had matured into a passion to live a different lifestyle that would make me the best and healthiest person i can be.
Bodybuilding is a sport where you don't cheat. If your training is tight and your diet tighter it will show. Physically in the flesh you can see where your work has succeeded or failed you. Its the ability to live it day to day and when you go to bed you know you ate right and are worn from the exhaustion you spent in the weight room or running. It adds discipline in your life and better yet gives you a sense of fulfillment in yourself that allows you to apply your work ethic to all other aspects of life.
