8 months after having my son and going through a very self indulging holiday season I could not fit into a size 12 jeans at my favorite store at the mall. A few days later while sitting on the couch I noticed that my standard single belly roll had morphed into 2. I was done! I wanted to have the body I had dreamed of. My husband would become my coach, motivator, therapist, and the muse of my emotional out lashes over the next 5 1/2 years and counting. He introduced me to weightlifting since it was all he knew for workout options. After many an argument over my " ability" to do higher weights, he won, and I now know I am one strong Momma. It's the most empowering thing I have ever done.
I suffered a 2 year set back with the pregnancy, birth, and year long battle back to my pre-pregnancy shape after the birth of my daughter in 2012. I am now as motivated as ever, training for a tough mountain challenge in July, and who knows. A power lifting comp in 2014??? ;-) the sky is the limit and I have the best support system in the world!
