I began working out my junior year of HS - "Abs of Steel" home video and jogging. I lost motivation and have been attempting to adapt a healthy lifestyle ever since... It wasn't until 2013 that I actually dedicated myself and did my homework. I've been educating myself about health, nutrition, and fitness ever since. I am eager to learn and put new found knowledge into practice. I'm currently the Wellness Champion - Champions for Change coordinator for my school site (I want to be a good role model). I was 225 lbs at my heaviest with a 42 inch waist. High blood pressure and diabetes run on both sides of my family... I owe it to myself and my family to take care of myself!
P.S. It feels AMAZING to be able to keep up and play with my students during PE! :)
I consider myself an active person (by nature). I'm not one to sit around (avoid watching tv). I feel like I have ants in my pants... LOL Although, I've gone through phases where I've lacked energy and felt so unhealthy and drained. I LOVE working out because it is a natural drug for me - it motivates me to make healthy choices. I LOVE the natural high, boost of energy and feeling of accomplishment! I feel AWESOME when I workout!!!
I've mostly done cardio in the past. I've been using weight machines for approx, 1 month. I have been reluctant to use free weights because I need to learn how to use them them properly to gain good results and avoid injuries...
