I have always been an active individual. I played sports growing up and have always had an interest in working out, but nothing serious. It wasnât until 2012 that I developed a passion for fitness and began taking accountability for my personal health. I was in a Doctorate program to obtain my Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Degree. I had been in school for the past three years and studying late had began to take a toll on my health. I was constantly feeling sluggish and âblahâ . I was staying up late and not making the best nutritional choices (cheetos, soda, cookies etc). I decided it was time to make a change and help myself feel better. From that point on the rest was history.
In January 2012 I changed my diet and was working out 4-5 days a week. After about 6 months I felt as though I had hit a plateau. I was not seeing any more changes⦠I decided I needed a new goal. I had heard about people competing in figure competitions and I became curious. I liked what I found when I researched figure competitions, so I made that my new goal. I set the date for November 2012; a local competition was where I would step on stage for the first time!!! I found an amazing coach, Misty Davis who has been in the industry for 22 years! We began training in July and preparing for the November show.
I instantly fell in love with the competition world⦠I love everything about it; The progress, struggles and accomplishments! I also fell in love with the glitz and the glam of stepping on stage!!! I guess you could say I was hooked!!!
