I started working out when I was depressed in my 30's and took it from there to the stage in a Model Quest category at age 32. At 40 and was diagnosed with epilepsy and fell right back into my depression and gained 80 lbs. I took off this weight and what keeps me going is wanting to get back up on that stage and enter a bikini diva's competition through the INBA. last year I was 12 weeks out from my show and fell in roller derby and broke my tailbone. My daughter fell and broke her leg at the same time, so I moved in with her to help with the kids. I gained 34 lbs and I am again beginning training for a show next year, 2015. If you can't have big dreams, you will never get anywhere in life. So this is what I am preparing myself for. I am very excited to do my 2nd show at 43 years old and be be in better shape than I was at 32!!! Can't wait to see where I'll be at 50!
Working out takes away my depression and keeps me uplifted and goal oreintated every day. I have a past of heavy drinking and some drugs about 16 years ago and decided that was not a way to live, that was a way to die. Bodybuilding has saved my life more than once now and I am so excited to get back into it!!! I have been working very hard to get back to my former body and I hope I look good for my birthday in May because that's when I am planning for my bikini diva's show and I would love to show up in the best shape ever. What a gift to myself.
