I have been a Ballet dancer for 10 years 5 of those professionally. I stopped because it was unhealthy for me mentally and physically. There is a lot of pressure to be thin and after many years of self sabotage and not looking after my health I decided to stop.
I joined the gym to get my cardio fix initially training twice a day doing 3 hours cardio and classes...NOT GOOD! I felt I had to do this in order to stay in shape as I was used to dancing 8am-5pm 6 days a week. I got sick after two weeks of this crazy routine. I began to get in to the weights starting at 2.5kg DB working my way upto 8kg DB. My record for incline leg press was 220KG 3 sets of 6...very proud moment. I have done my cert 3&4 in fitness and want to transition in to the fitness industry from Real Estate.
All my life I have been an active person and for me gym is an outlet and a way to better myself and set new goals, see results and inspire other people and friends achieve their goals. I have a passion for women's training simply because I have been on both sides of the equation and know what it is like to hate your body and not feel worthy. Every woman should feel empowered and strong. Fit is sexy and skinny is not! Social media and celebrities are creating too much pressure within society and people should look upto the fitness models and ambassadors for inspiration not the latest lemon detox or another angelie jolie not eating again episode!!!
Women need to be educated about clean eating and cominding weight training with cardio to see results! I hope to be the educator in the near future and change many womens lives and make them happy, healthy and confident in their bodies!
