Well I was always very active growing up. I played multiple sports but soccer was my forte. I played since I was 2. I was sidelined with a complete knee blowout in high school. I continued to play after a long recovery, but always had problems and pain with my knee. I decided to hang up my cleats for good after my 1st year of college. I kept eating like a athlete but wasn't moving like athlete anymore. Couple of years down the road and across the other side of the country I found myself relying on sugar laden sodas and junk food to get me through my hectic day. I am a pretty thick framed girl that can handle some weight on my frame but when I reached 199 my highest weight ever, I knew I had to change. I bought a gym membership for the whole year that way I couldn't just cancel and say " I'll try again next year" possible. I eased into it and made small changes to my daily life. Not eating everything in sight and stopping when I was full has helped a lot. I also have workout DVD's at home in case I don't feel like going to the gym. With little changes I have lost 43 pounds and counting since January 2013. I always try to have a voice that says "you don't need to eat that" or "is it worth it". But if I do fall off the wagon I and eat something not so healthy I just add a couple more minutes to my exercise or cut back on the next meal. I still learning and still trying to keep my "cookie monster" mentality under control (I'm a sweet fiend!). Hopefully I will keep losing weight and getting stronger. I really would like to be toned and lean. I go heavy at the gym and have been not relying on cardio just to help me lose weight.
My motivation are women like Nicole Wilkins, Erin Stern, and Candice Keene. Hopefully in the see able futureI would like to compete, but my body and eating habits still have quite a ways to go.
