I've always been active and in shape, but after having had my first kid, my body changed. I knew I needed to step up my fitness activities in order to work off the extra weight and tighten myself up again, but I had no idea where or how to start. What ended up being my motivation and inspiration was my dad. After events that put my dad in a state of unhappiness, when my son was born he realized he wanted to be a fit active grandfather for him. So he didn't set a small goal to get in shape, he went for gold. He decided he was going to compete in a bodybuilding competition. Watching him transform was the most motivating thing ever. I knew I could do it too. And he did it too. He competed in his very first competition ever and went to place 1st in his age group, 2nd in his height and 3rd in overall. So...that's what did it for me. I got on this site and started researching exercises, nutrition, supplementation, etc. I went on to lose 75 pounds and going from a body fat of 22% to 12.5%. I've since had a little girl and although I don't have the same amount of weight needed to lose, I definitely know what to do to tighten back up.
Why I love to workout...hmmm...I'd have to say it's mainly for my kids. I get to play with them cause I am healthy, I have the energy, I have the stamina. I love how I feel, it gives me more confidence in myself. There's just sooooo much good that comes from being fit and healthy that I couldn't list it all here. I know I will be a great grandma one day still rolling around playing with the kids...that's why I love it.
