In high school I danced 10 hours a week and then spent another 10 hours boxing or lifting weights. I really enjoyed the rush and quite honestly, the gym is my therapy.
I quit being active in college with a full course load and two jobs and quickly realized at graduation how out of shape I had gotten.
In December of 2007 I joined a gym and got a personal trainer. I trained with her for 6 months and now I am on my own, but still going strong.
Update: Jan 2015 - The 8 years I have been consistently working out, never having more than a week off (which is a vacation or sickness). I have put on muscle and put on weight. My goals have changed. I am not looking to be "thin", I am looking to be strong and fit these days.
I started a strong man program in Janurary and am LOVING IT. It is changing my body and making me wider (my medium tops no longer fit!) At the same time, I am getting stronger and doing more functional workouts. I want to be able to do more with my body, not just a single range of motion with a machine.
