I gained a LOT of weight in college, senior year I ended up having to have knee surgery (2007/2008). I started eating healthier, being more aware of what I was eating since I was going to be unable to walk (no body weight on my right knee) for 8 weeks. After graduation and when I started working (completely sedentary during the day and happy hour at night) I gained the weight I lost - plus some - back. Valentines Day 2009 I joined my first gym - and made a promise to myself - my last Valentines Day fat and alone. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in June of 2009 - and I ran my first 5K in her honor to raise funds for her cancer center at the end of June. Since then - I have lost over 60pounds and I have completed a ton of 5Ks, 10Ks, 10-milers, 2 half marathons, 1 sprint tri and 2 indoor tri's! I am now working more on my eating and really building the best body I can.
Flash forward to 2018 - a marriage, a divorce, a new job, and a big move later - I gained back the weight I lost. I'm ready to shred it!!! I've gotten back into working out - boxing, yoga, biking, etc. and am looking forward to crushing #250KChallenge2018!
