I started off going to the gym when I was 15, began with just using the weight machines. At that time, I had wanted to go to the gym to complement my swim training. Slowly progressed to doing squats and deadlifts with the fixed barbells. Eventually I mustered up the courage to try squatting with the olympic barbell in the power rack. I have never looked back since :)
