I started getting up on Saturday's and going to the gym with my dad and brother when I was eleven. Of course, the only thing I'd do was sit on the leg extension machine! I had always grown up an athlete though, and enjoyed the fitness lifestyle. I was a competitive gymnast for several years and allowed to join a gym early at age 12 with my mom. I started doing body pump classes and continued throughout high school. I was never serious though, as I was more concerned with my social life and school sports. I had always had a SERIOUS sweet tooth and people around school joked at how much I ate. I maintained my weight, though, by staying active and eating relatively healthy meals during the week. Once I gradutated, I started coaching gymnastics and continuing a fit lifestyle. Then, sophomore year of college, I ended up in the hospital with panic attacks. When I got out, I completely lost sight of the leader I'd always been and joined up with some friends who had the same passion for gorging on junk food as I did. Needless to say, my weight jumped from my usual 135 lbs to 150 in a matter of months. Well, finally my eyes were opened and I realized I was being a follower which I had never done before. I am a natural born leader and have always desired to stand out. So I took off on my own path and committed myself to fitness. I was determined that I wouldn't be like everyone else and I cleaned up my diet 100%. That was on January 1 of this year and I haven't stopped since. I started seeing my weight drop and shape changing as I plunged into bodybuilding, and in the past two months have gotten so many comments about competing that I'm strongly considering it.
I love that people can tell what I love to do simply by looking at me. They automatically know that I live a healthy lifestyle and work out, and I can help so many people with that passion. Almost everyone desires to better themself and be healthy, and I have the ability to be a positive impact on them and be a leader at a young age. I also love working out because I can pour any emotion into it. It's been there on my crappiest days and I can beat it up, it's been there on my good days and I can get in there and jam out and have fun, and it's helped me completely change my life and realize who I am.. determined, dedicated, and passionate.
