I have been working out in some capacity since 5th grade. In 5th grade my father use to take me to the local school track and make me run laps with him. Of course I could not keep up with him. I remember crying the whole time. Not because I didnt like to run. Only because I couldnt keep up with him. He would leave me in the dust and I would cry my head off. I have not stopped running since then.
Unfortunately as of about six years ago, my hip starting hurting. Today, the more I run, the more it causes me great pain. Now I can only run about two miles before the pain kicks in. I just limit myself to no more than five miles (yes, on a good day I allow myself to endure the pain) per run. Running is my passion. I have found it extremely difficult to stop running altogether.
In 1980, I accidently ran across a magazine called Muscle & Fitness. Rachel Mclish was on the cover of the magazine. I recall saying to myself I want my body to look like hers. After reading the article, I learned that she was a weight lifter (Ms. Olypmia). I quickly joined the nearest gym called Eifermans in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have been tinkering around with weights since then. Rachels fit body inspired me to lift weights. I prefer my body to have a tone appearance and that's why I love bodybuilding.
