I have always been extremely thin and was picked on constantly through school. It drove me crazy and I tried a couple times to gain some weight and work out. Finally, in 2011 I put on about 10 pounds and decided to enter in a local gym's first NPC show. I've been hooked to competing since! I can't wait to see how far I can push my body! Also, I have an amazing trainer who pushes me to my limits!
I LOVE seeing the results. It's so great to have a "hobby" that's good for me!
I never thought I would be able to be athletic in any way. When I was 13, I found out I had a possibly fatal case of scoliosis. Within weeks I had a major back surgery to fuse my spine. I still have 2 metal rods attached to my spine. About 16 vertebrae are fused together. I am able to do just about everything anyone else does! I dislike my scar, but it's a mark of character :)
I love working out because I can focus on my goals and push myself. I've unfortunately had many failed relationships and as most know, that can take a toll on one's self esteem. I have regained confidence in myself by reaching personal goals in the gym and on stage. The gym is one place that I know I can better myself and push everything else that may be going wrong aside.
