I got started in the late 80's because of three people: my ex, my best friend and Dr. Jim Corea's (via his Philly talk show). I got hooked fast, and I dropped the extra 20 lbs. I carried after my 3rd child. By the time my 4th came along, I gained very little, and went right back to normal weight in no time. I had never in my life been so healthy. Things changed, I went down a dark path and lost my way. I'm back, but I brought 150 extra pounds with me. In 2002, I found Body-for-Life and Bill Phillips and Body of Work, In 2008 I found Transformation. Now, at the end of 2014, I found BodyBuilding.com (by way of Bill Phillips). I lost about 80 lbs. in 2010, but gained it back after adversity TKO. Back again. I won't ever give up.
I loved the way I felt when I worked out with free weights. I loved the precision, the science of it, the fast results, the fact that you could target muscles and then work them until they blew. I loved seeing shaking muscles. I loved the soreness even (usually). I loved the springs in my legs, the constant energy. I loved feeling good, feeling confident, all the time. I loved rarely getting sick. I miss it. I want it back.
